One thing I’ve come to believe deeply is that many people miss out on what God wants to do.. not because He isn’t speaking, but because they resist the divine moments to pray… and to seek.
We often wait for a crisis to cry out or a breakthrough to believe, but what if God is prompting us long before the storm hits? Sometimes, a gentle nudge in your spirit—a sudden urge to pause, pray, or open your Bible—isn’t just a good idea. It’s a divine invitation.
Jeremiah 29:13 says:
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Divine moments are often quiet. They come in the middle of a busy schedule, in the early morning stillness, or during a worship song that stirs something deep. But we resist them. We delay, we get distracted, or we tell ourselves, “I’ll pray later. And in doing so, we miss the deeper work God wanted to do; not just around us, but also in us.
Why Discipline in Prayer Matters
Jesus Himself modeled a disciplined prayer life. Scripture tells us:
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” — Luke 5:16
The word “often” is significant. Even the Son of God, filled with divine wisdom and authority, made prayer a priority. If Jesus needed consistent communion with the Father, how much more do we?
A disciplined prayer life:
Deepens spiritual sensitivity
Anchors your heart in Scripture
Builds spiritual endurance
Releases peace amid uncertainty
Aligns your desires with God’s will
Here’s a challenge: the next time you feel that pull to pray or to be still, Use that defining moment to stop what you’re doing and step into the moment. God may not just want to speak to your need, I have come to believe just maybe He (God) wants to change your life.
Ways Build a discipline prayer life: Set a consistent time to pray and protect it
Don’t wait for the perfect moment choose a time you can keep, even if it’s just 5 minutes a day a remain loyal to it.
